Abstract: In the era of rapid development in translation technology, students majoring in translation are facing unprecedented challenges. The emphasis on strengthening the cultivation of personal abilities among students majoring in translation to adapt to the progressively competitive translation market has become increasingly vital in translation teaching. Paulina Pietrzak's book, Metacognitive Translator Training: Focus on Personal Resources, published in 2022, delves into the new developments and objectives of translator education from a metacognitive perspective, highlighting the importance of metacognitive strategies in translator training. Drawing on her own experiences in translator training, extensive scholarly literature, and research data, Pietrzak elaborates on the positive impact of metacognitive awareness and personal resources on enhancing translator proficiency. She showcases feasible methods for integrating metacognitive practices into translation teaching, thereby breaking new ground in metacognitive-oriented translator training.
