Abstract: This essay studies the feasibility of literature collection as a business model, focusing on the current situation of the publishing industry in the Chinese mainland, especially on the problems faced by authors and the possibility of innovation. While traditional publishing is dominant, the rise of self-service and digital publishing has brought opportunities for change to the industry. The study highlights the competitive pressures writers face in the Chinese mainland to gain access to publishing outlets and the appeal of overseas ISBN self-publishing. This essay proposes a new business model which allows publishers to establish a fair profit-sharing mechanism and broaden the market space of literary diversity by planning thematic collections. Despite the challenges, literary collections still have potential value in Chinese mainland publishing. Content quality, copyright management, and marketing strategies must be improved to realise its full potential. This study is of great significance in promoting the healthy development of the literary industry and enhancing its confidence.
