Self-realization focuses more on the process of non-duality and unity. 一个人的觉醒始于认知。“认知在很大程度上决定了一个人的行为，也定义了一个人的人生。所以认知觉醒无异于脱胎换骨。”人生没有最晚的开始，只要你想改变，现在开始就是最好的时机，因为你已经踏上了觉醒之路。决定一个人的成就和幸福感的，不是能力，不是学历，而是心智的开悟程度。但是没有任何人生下来就是开悟的，他必定是历事练心，经历万千，最后新知蜕变，慢慢的就开悟了，就拉开了人和人之间的差异，而这个生命质量，最后就是天差地别了。心智更多的是一个人向内认识自己，管理自己；认知更多的是一个人向外认知世界，执行想法。开悟、觉醒、与自我实现本质是一样的，如果一定要找到细化，那么：开悟更偏重达到至高的意识状态。觉醒更偏重于破幻、灵性与灵能的开启。自我实现更偏重于不二、合一的过程。
