A Comparative Study of English Translation of Allusions to Mao Zedong's Poems 毛泽东诗词典故英译比较研究 Miao Shuang, Li Zhengshuan 苗爽 李正栓 Abstract: The use of allusions is one of the main features of Mao Zedong's poetry. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, the English translation of Mao Zedong's poems received much attention and became a national translation practice. In addition, scholars abroad attached great importance to the translation and dissemination of Mao Zedong's poems, making his poetry the most widely circulated books in the world. The translation of allusions is not only an important part of the English translation of Mao Zedong's poems, but also the main aspect for translators to show their ideas and characteristics.
